In 2025, the Taylor Police Department in Michigan carried out undercover operations to target people suspected of exploiting minors online. These efforts resulted in the arrest of 14 men. Several have already pleaded guilty to felony charges related to child exploitation. The operations involved support from federal and regional agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security, the United States Secret Service, the Metro Narcotics Enforcement Team, and the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.
Police used technology such as Brinc drones, Flock Safety systems, Axon equipment, and StarChase to help identify and arrest suspects. These tools also helped protect officers and the public. Police Chief John Blair said that technology, investigative work, and cooperation with other agencies are important for protecting children.
Those who pleaded guilty include Jacob Gozalka, 30, of Southgate; Richard Jon Wandt, 35, of Monroe; and Wvalter Orozco, 39, of Detroit. Eleven other suspects from Taylor, Detroit, and nearby areas face felony charges and are awaiting court action…
