HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – An Evansville man was arrested after authorities say he fired a gun during an altercation with a fellow parent about their children fighting.
According to an affidavit, officers were dispatched to the area of Twelfth Avenue and Illinois Street on Tuesday after a caller reported hearing gunshots from a vehicle in the area. Authorities say they were able to determine Jerome Jackson, 31, as a potential suspect following their initial investigation.
Authorities say two residents at a home on Illinois Street reported that Jackson came to their home to inform them that their child had gotten into a fight with his child. The two groups of guardians agreed to meet for a conversation, but the father of the other child reported that Jackson was getting aggressive and appeared to be reaching for a gun. The father was able to hold Jackson on the ground briefly, but the man told authorities that Jackson got to his feet and pointed his gun at the other man and fired.
