ONE Lexington, community members work to reduce gun violence near Centre Parkway

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Even through recent trauma, it is a community that refuses to stop smiling.

Thursday evening was about looking toward the future and letting those who live in the neighborhood near Centre Parkway decide what they believe needs to happen for it to feel safe again.

” What is it that you feel like is going to make this area safer in your minds? You know, what do you want this area to be like for your kids so that they can safely go to the park, so they can go to the playground?” Kenya Ballard, survivor liaison with ONE Lexington, said.

There were two shootings last week in the neighborhood, and a man lost his life…
