MOBILE, ALABAMA — A man dubbed an Alabama “porch pirate” has been arrested after police say he was caught red-handed with multiple stolen packages in his vehicle, ending what appears to be a string of doorstep thefts across Mobile County.
According to the Mobile Police Department, officers took Todd Bond into custody after finding several parcels inside his car that were traced back to different residential addresses. Investigators say Bond was allegedly traveling through local neighborhoods, taking recently delivered packages directly from porches.
Caught on Camera
Doorbell camera footage circulating online shows a man pulling up in a vehicle, quickly walking to a home’s front door, and grabbing a package before driving off. The video, shared widely on social media by Daily Loud, sparked outrage among residents and helped police identify the suspect.
“It’s one of those crimes that really hits home—literally,” said a Mobile County resident who reviewed the footage. “You work hard, order something, and someone just walks up and takes it. I’m glad they caught him.”
Police Confirm Arrest and Charges
