Man charged after pregnant dog found with bullet wounds in a field

(WJW) — A Tennessee man was recently arrested and charged with the shooting of a small dog that took place two months ago, the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Wilson County Animal Control was called to a field near Lebanon on Sept. 18 for reports of a dog that appeared to be hurting. Upon arrival, first responders said they found found a small black dog with a right leg that was significantly injured.

X-rays taken by a local veterinarian showed the dog had bullet fragments in its leg. The animal doctor determined the 2-year-old cocker spaniel–poodle mix had been shot twice, with one bullet grazing its spine and another shattering its elbow…
