21-year-old motorcyclist dead after running red light in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A 21-year-old motorcyclist is dead after police say he ran a red light and crashed into an SUV in a Richmond intersection.

Just before 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11, officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to the intersection of South Belvidere and Spring streets for a report of a crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV.

When they arrived, officers learned that the motorcyclist, 21-year-old Alexander Norton of Chesterfield County, had been significantly injured in the crash. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died…
