When it pours, it pollutes: Heavy rainfall fuels flood risk and debris in Sacramento creeks

(FOX40.COM) — As Sacramento endures a gnarly bout of rainfall, waterway experts remind the community that it’s not just the roads and our rainboots that are feeling the impact.

“A lot of oceanic pollution originates right here in Sacramento,” River City Waterway Alliance Co-Founder David Ingram said in an interview on Thrusday.

Ingram’s team has removed more than 3.4 million pounds of debris from local area waterways. He said it’s hard, but impactful work.
