It’s happening. After years of wishful thinking, social media rumors and begging from upstate New Yorkers, Ikea is opening in Syracuse next week.
The grand opening of Ikea Syracuse at Destiny USA is set for Friday, November 21, and they’re making a full event of it: games, giveaways and raffles start at 8 a.m., followed by a ceremony and ribbon-cutting at 9:45 a.m. Expect music, speeches and (no doubt) excited shoppers lined up before sunrise.
The new 90,000-square-foot showroom marks Ikea’s first upstate New York location and its third in the state, joining Brooklyn and Long Island.
