IDEA Lakeland, a charter school that opened in 2024, held an event Nov. 12 to celebrate its expansion.
The buildout of the campus at 1775 Interstate Drive in Lakeland has nearly tripled the number of classrooms to accommodate growing enrollment, IDEA Public Schools said in a news release. IDEA Lakeland now has more than 750 students in kindergarten through seventh grade.
The expansion increased classrooms from 20 to 58 and offices from seven to 25. It added a cafeteria, two teacher workrooms and a playground. With construction complete, campus occupancy has gone from 25% to 100%, the release said…
