Cedar Rapids schools report fewer students enrolled, looks ahead to future bond issues

The Cedar Rapids Community School District (CRCSD) says they saw a slight drop in enrollment for the 2025–26 school year.

Officials say preliminary numbers show 13,945 students enrolled for the year. That’s 622 students fewer than the year before, representing a 4.27% drop in students.

“Enrollment numbers are not just statistics; they tell the story of our community, and behind every number is a student, a family, and a story,” said Superintendent Dr. Tawana Grover. “This is our moment to listen, learn, and ensure our programs reflect the needs of today’s students and families.
