On Thursday, November 13, Parks and Recreation staff will conduct a controlled burn at the Pioneers Boulevard trailhead in Wilderness Park. The burn will cover about 9 acres and take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The parking lot and Yellow Trail between markers 17 and 18 will be closed until noon the next day.
Aaron Druery, Greenways District Supervisor, said the burn is intended to manage native plants, lower wildfire risk, and support wildlife habitat. Residents are asked to avoid the area during the operation. Staff will monitor weather and air quality to maintain safety…
