A Madison police oversight agency survived another year on the chopping block after City Council members rejected a proposal to defund the Office of the Independent Monitor and redirect its funding to the Police Department.
Alds. Barbara Harrington-McKinney, Isadore Knox and Joann Pritchett cosponsored the floor amendment, prior to the City Council debating its operating and capital budgets for next year.
