Two drivers were taken to jail late Wednesday night after a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputy caught them street racing through The Woodlands.
Just before 11 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, a deputy assigned to The Woodlands Township was monitoring traffic on Research Forest Drive when he noticed a BMW sedan and a Chevrolet pickup stopped side-by-side at an eastbound intersection. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the deputy watched both drivers rev their engines and then launch as soon as the light turned green, accelerating well above the flow of traffic as they tried to outrun each other down the roadway.
The deputy quickly initiated a traffic stop, and both drivers pulled over without incident. After speaking with them and reviewing what he observed, the deputy determined they had been racing and placed both under arrest…
