Contractor Suffers Superficial Injuries in Phoenix Wastewater Plant Fire and Services Remain Uninterrupted

An unexpected blaze at a Phoenix wastewater treatment plant on Thursday left one man with superficial injuries. FOX 10 Phoenix reports that the fire started around 9:30 a.m. near 91st and Sunland Avenues, sending smoke billowing from a subterranean tunnel.

According to FOX 10 Phoenix, Officials described the fire as having originated 10 feet underground. This forced an evacuation of the facility as a safety measure. “The contractor (adult male) was treated at a local hospital in stable condition for superficial burns to his hands and face and is expected to recover,” Phoenix Fire Capt.
