Less than two years after its initial ground-breaking, the Hard Rock Casino Tejon opened its doors on Thursday to throngs of eager onlookers and patrons, many of whom waited in line for hours to get a glimpse of the new marvel at the base of the Grapevine.
Los Angeles resident Sergio Gomez was the first person in a line of thousands waiting for the casino to open its doors for the first time Thursday morning. “I’ve been here since 10:15 last night,” he told Fresno CBS affiliate KSEE-TV.
The casino, a partnership between the Tejon Indian Tribe and Florida-based Hard Rock International, is located right off Interstate 5 in the town of Mettler, about 20 miles south of Bakersfield and less than 90 miles from downtown LA…
