BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Two co-defendants in a major federal drug trafficking case appeared in court Friday.
Lanicholas Rollins, 30, received time served and three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to his role in the operation. Sammuel Gulley changed his plea from not guilty to guilty.
Prosecutors say Gulley faces one count of conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and two counts of using a telephone to commit drug trafficking. Because of his previous offenses, the charges could carry up to 30 years in prison and millions in fines. Investigators used a wiretap, and court documents show Gulley and other codefendants allegedly discussing the strength of the drugs and how they planned to transport them…
