Lake Lanier is currently slightly above its historic median water level for this time of year, but, with less rainfall than normal around this time of year, officials from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers say they are keeping a close eye on the lake level, and they are encouraging people who go out on the lake to be careful in the months to come.
The Corps, which manages the lake, said Lanier’s water level was at an elevation of 1,065.51 feet as of Wednesday, just barely above the historic median elevation of 1,065.39 feet for this time of year. Lake Lanier’s full pool water elevation is 1,071 feet.
