VHS officials say they’re hoping justice is served in the case against Shayna Burko. She was charged with animal cruelty earlier this year in Warrick County. But she was charged and convicted of similar crimes in Vanderburgh County in 2023.

Coordinators at VHS are asking for the public’s support in speaking out against Burko, who was previously sentenced to probation in an animal cruelty case. She now faces a similar charge in Warrick County after authorities say in January, dozens of animals were found in a Newburgh home.
