Englewood resident arrested on warrants following car fire at Maryville Walmart

An Englewood resident was arrested by Maryville Police officers Friday morning after first responders responded to the Walmart on US-411 for a vehicle fire in the store’s parking lot.

MPD Chief Tony Crisp told The Daily Times that Maryville Fire and Police responded mid-morning Friday to Walmart, 2410 US-411, on reports of a vehicle in flames. On scene, officers reportedly extinguished the worst of the flames until firefighters could arrive to fully clear the vehicle.

“A Dean Johnson came out as we were finishing up, he’d been in the Walmart when the engine caught on fire and said it may have been caused by an oil leak,” said Crisp. “Our units ran his name and, unfortunately for him, found he was wanted out of Monroe County on some warrants.”…
