Racepath Center holding annual community Thanksgiving dinner, volunteers needed

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – The Racepath Community Learning Center is calling for volunteers with baking skills, side dish expertise, and extra hands to help with their annual community Thanksgiving dinner.

The center provides a warm meal for those who cannot gather around a table with their family on Thanksgiving. CEO Karen Vassell said the tradition has been going on for the last 44 years, but this year they’ll need even more volunteers to help with the demand.

“Food has been a scarcity recently, and so we are expecting large crowds,” Vassell said. “We get calls every day about food, especially for the winter months.”…
