WINTER PARK, FLORIDA — A Florida doctor is facing criminal charges after police say a 15-year-old girl was found unconscious from alcohol consumption at a house party hosted at her home. The incident took place about two weeks ago, but details of the arrest have recently drawn widespread attention online.
According to an arrest affidavit from the Winter Park Police Department, officers were called to a residence on Chestnut Avenue around 12:30 a.m. on a Saturday after several reports of juveniles “drinking and falling down drunk.”
Teen Found Unconscious After Party Spirals Out of Control
Police identified the homeowner as Dr. Hao Nhu Tran, 51, who told authorities she had organized a small gathering for her teenage son and his classmates from Trinity Preparatory School. Tran said she invited around 30 students, but more teens from nearby schools began arriving unexpectedly.
Officers said the event quickly escalated into a large-scale party involving underage drinking. Witnesses told police that alcohol was being consumed openly by several minors, and one 15-year-old girl was found unconscious and required hospitalization.
