SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) – BART’s growing ridership reached an important benchmark in October.
The transit agency posted the highest weekday ridership average since the COVID-19 pandemic began, BART said in a statement.

Ridership was 10.7% higher that October 2024, with an average of nearly 200,000 weekday riders. Passengers took more than 5.3 million trips during the month. BART also saw the highest Saturday ridership since the pandemic during the “No Kings” protests throughout the Bay Area on Oct. 18.
Other October events like the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival, San Francisco Fleet Week and the annual Dreamforce conference also likely contributed to the bump in BART ridership for the month…
