SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Wednesday, U.S. Marshals apprehended 18-year-old Marcus Thomas in connection with a fatal shooting in the 700 block of W. 57th Street in September of this year.
A second 18-year-old, Caesar Thompkins, Jr., turned himself in to the U.S. Marshals on Nov. 13 in connection to the same case.
Thomas is charged with murder, conspiracy to commit a felony and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Thompkins has been charged with murder and conspiracy to commit a felony.

On Sept. 18 at approximately 3:36 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting at W. 57th St. They found an unresponsive juvenile inside a residence who was suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers also conducted a traffic stop at W. 63rd St. and Montgomery St. on a vehicle leaving the scene. Thomas, who had sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, was found in the vehicle. EMS responded and transported both individuals to Memorial Health University Medical Center for treatment, where the juvenile ultimately died.
