The name of the man who died after going kayaking along Brush Creek in Cheatham County has been identified as 20-year-old Robert Jarillo of Tomball, Texas, according to Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Boating Investigator Capt. Josh Landrum.
According to Cheatham County Emergency Management Agency Director and Fire Chief Edwin Hogan, on Thursday, Oct. 30, dispatch received a call around 1:35 p.m. that a 20-year-old male had drowned in the back waters of the Cumberland River near Brush Creek. Jarillo’s body was found around 4 p.m. The Ashland City Fire Department, Cheatham County EMA, Emergency Medical Service and Sheriff’s Office, Metropolitan Nashville Fire Department Special Operations and TWRA responded to the scene. The TWRA are the lead investigators on the case.
