As cities and counties around the state and nation paused to honor the men and women who have fought for freedom in the United States military, the city of Portland followed suit with its own celebration of local veterans.
The City of Portland hosted its annual Veterans Day celebration on Nov. 11 to honor those who have fought in every branch of the United States military. The event is meant to shine a light on the sacrifices made and bravery shown in putting on the uniform, according to city officials.
