OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The family of an Omaha police officer who died in the line of duty more than five decades ago received a special honor flag Friday during a ceremony at the Omaha Public Safety Training Center.
Officer Larry Minard was killed in 1970 when he responded to what officials described as a booby trap emergency call. He was 29 years old and left behind a wife and five children.
