Tacking onto thousands of announced Washington County job cuts, Oregon’s largest chipmaker is shedding hundreds more.
According to a workforce reduction notice filed with state and county officials Thursday, Nov. 13, Intel is laying off 669 employees across its four Washington County sites spread between Hillsboro and Aloha — a continuation of its announcement in July to chop nearly 2,400 positions.
“As we announced earlier this year, we are taking steps to become a leaner, faster and more efficient company,” an Intel spokesperson told the News-Times. “These targeted actions, while difficult, are part of our efforts to strengthen our position for long-term success and support the future growth of our business.”…
