Update: Charlotte restaurant is hitting its stride and preparing to celebrate 1st anniversary party

When we first spotlighted Serengeti Kitchen not too long after it first opened its doors, it made history as Charlotte’s very first Tanzanian restaurant — a warm, colorful introduction to the flavors and hospitality of East Africa. Now, just one year later, owner Ammalu Saleh says the restaurant has truly found its rhythm in its new home at 7th Street Market.

“Since we moved to the 7th Street Market, Serengeti has truly started to thrive,” they said. “We’ve been able to represent our brand in the way we had envisioned, and it’s been rewarding to see both new and returning customers come through our doors.”
