Victims in I-77 road rage shooting in Newburgh Heights speak out

NEWBURGH HEIGHTS, Ohio (WJW) — John Centers is recovering after he was shot while taking his 2-year-old daughter to her grandmother’s home on his way to work on Wednesday.

It happened about 9 a.m. on Interstate 77 with his wife, Rachael Stapleton, in the passenger seat and their 2-year-old daughter Rae in her car seat behind them.

“We were just driving casually like we were supposed to on the highway and I seen this Ford Fusion come across like four lanes, all the way across behind me,” said Centers, speaking exclusively to FOX 8 News on Thursday as he carefully moved around on crutches.

“I had a Tesla in front of me, so I started slowing down because traffic was slowing down, and she came around me and then cut off in front of me, brake-checked me, almost had me go into the wall three different times,” he told FOX 8 News…
