Bulldogs survive playoff scare against West Carteret

ST. PAULS — The St. Pauls Bulldogs survived a thrilling contest against the West Carteret Patriots, winning 46-32 to advance in the NCHSAA 5A state playoffs. There were many offensive highlights for the Bulldogs in this contest, including a five-touchdown night from running back Yoshua McBryde. The coaches, however were most happy to survive and advance.

“We’ve been stuck in the first round for the last three seasons,” St. Pauls coach Mike Setzer said. “It’s been heartbreaking to do well every year and go out in the first round so getting that monkey off our back is super important for our program.”…
