ST. PAULS — The Town of St. Pauls is looking into the possibility of painting a mural to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in 2026, just as other municipalities including Lumberton have done.
During the board comment period at the end of Thursday’s monthly Board of Commissioners meeting, Commissioner John Gudauskas stated that the town’s Tourism Development Authority is looking into options, and that the town’s Appearance Committee would need to approve; that committee already has a mural design in mind, he said, though he didn’t know if it is their intention to use that design as an America 250 project.
