SOUTH CAROLINA — A deadly four-vehicle crash early Saturday morning shut down all southbound lanes of Interstate 85 at mile marker 37, according to the Anderson County Coroner’s Office.
The collision occurred shortly after 2:30 a.m. and involved four vehicles. As of 10:25 a.m., all lanes remained blocked while emergency crews worked at the scene.
Nine people were transported to hospitals with injuries, authorities said. One person, 23-year-old Ellison Flores-Hernandez of Duncan, was killed. According to the coroner, he was a passenger in a vehicle whose driver lost control and crashed. Flores-Hernandez was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He died from multiple traumatic injuries caused by blunt force trauma. His death has been ruled an accident…
