If you’re a Guilford County WIC participant and you’ve been wondering whether the nutrition program is still running right now, the answer is yes – it’s open, operating and offering the full slate of services.
County officials announced on Thursday, Nov. 13, that the North Carolina Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children at the Guilford County Division of Public Health hasn’t experienced any interruption. The program continues to provide assistance to pregnant, postpartum and breastfeeding women, as well as infants and children up to age 5 who face nutrition risk.
“WIC is open and running as usual,” said Erin Cashwell, the Nutrition Program director with the Guilford County Division of Public Health. “We know there has been some confusion between WIC and SNAP, but they are separate programs.
