Pinnacle clinches $369M Air Force deal for jet trainer systems in Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Akima’s subsidiary Pinnacle Solutions has secured a major Air Force contract worth up to $369 million to design and build a cutting-edge maintenance training system for the military’s next-generation jet trainer aircraft, with the initial development work centered in Huntsville.

The 7.5-year Training Systems Acquisition IV delivery order will see Pinnacle develop the T-7A Maintenance Training System (MTS), a comprehensive training platform for maintainers who will service the new T-7A Red Hawk aircraft replacing the aging T-38C Talon fleet.

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center will oversee the program’s critical first three years of system development in Huntsville, positioning the Rocket City as the hub for creating this advanced training technology.
