Lawrence firefighter injured and 2 displaced in fire

LAWRENCE, Ind. — One Lawrence Fire Department firefighter is in the hospital after a piece of drywall fell on his neck in a residence fire.

According to LFD, crews were called to the 6600 block of East 46th Street for a trash fire. When crews arrived, they found a single-story residence with a fire in the attic.

The fire was quickly put out by LFD, but the two residents have been displaced and will be staying with their family. An LFD firefighter was hospitalized with minor injuries after a piece of drywall fell on his neck…
