A 10-year-old child from Michigan died after being hit by a vehicle near a school bus stop in Van Buren County.
According to a statement from the Van Buren County Michigan Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a “car versus pedestrian crash” on 22nd Street in Porter Township around 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13. First responders arrived to find the child, who was not publicly identified because of his age, and administered immediate medical care while authorities began investigating the scene.
Police said the driver involved — a 38-year-old woman in a white SUV — reported that she struck the child as he crossed the road after checking a family mailbox. She called 911 right after the collision…
