City Council accepts grant for Myrtle Beach police bodycam equipment

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF)- The Myrtle Beach City Council has accepted a grant award for the police department.

On Friday, officials said that $263,953.05 from the South Carolina Department of Public Safety Body Worn Camera Grant Program was accepted during the city council meeting on Tuesday.

The city says the money will be used to buy more body-worn cameras or BWC, as well as BWC-related equipment, BWC maintenance, storage for the Myrtle Beach Police Department…
