Palm Beach County in collaboration with the Riviera Beach Community Development Corporation (RBCDC) kicked off the construction of the Villas of Solana, an initiative set to provide first-time homebuyers with affordable housing options. A total of $1.5 million in HOME-CHDO funds are being put forward by the county to back the building of these residential units.
The development, once finished, will boast 14 two-story buildings and a cumulative 28 townhomes, an increased homeownership opportunity in a market that has been tight for many. Out of these homes, 10 will be earmarked for households with income up to 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI), addressing the accessible housing gap. Every unit comes with hurricane-resistant features—a nod to modern construction standards and safety concerns. The homes, a mix of two and three bedrooms, all offer 2.5 baths, according to Palm Beach County’s announcement.
