Thomas Ostrosky, 52, former director of the Lazarus Experience in Toledo, Ohio, pleaded guilty this week to stealing more than $207,000 from the nonprofit and its donors. The charges include engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, theft from a protected class, solicitation fraud, and telecommunications fraud. Authorities said some victims were elderly residents. Ostrosky was arrested in Florida after being indicted in April 2025.
The Lazarus Experience was a Christian ministry founded by Ostrosky in 2017 to help incarcerated men re-enter society in northwest Ohio. The organization has since closed.
