AUSTIN, Texas — Central Texans searching for soul food don’t have to look far to satisfy their cravings.
A North Austin restaurant called Whip My Soul is serving up chicken wings, mac and cheese, oxtail and other southern classics along North FM 620.
The eatery combines Chicago and Mississippi styles from owner Tanika Echols’ childhood and her grandmother’s cooking. The name was inspired by her grandfather, who often asked her to “whip me up some food.”…
