For the Home Cook: Thanksgiving Side Dishes

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) —With the cost of food already on the rise, it’s going to be difficult for a lot of people to not only feed themselves and their family this month, but also spend extra money for a Thanksgiving meal. In this series, we’re talking Thanksgiving foods on a budget, and today we continue with two sides that are seen on most tables.

Rolls and Mac & Cheese, these are great additions to your meal, but there is a cost-effective way to make it happen. Let’s start with dinner rolls, my go-to place is Sam’s Club, they have a 24 count of dinner rolls for only $3.98. You can go to Walmart, they have a 12 count of rolls for about $1.98, or you can get the frozen rolls from there for $4.84 for 36. United/MarketStreet has some fresh and frozen rolls for about the same price.

Now, unless you have some amazing recipe or the drive to make homemade rolls, honestly, I would buy them, they’re going to cost less, and you don’t have to deal with the process of baking them.
