TODAY: DRIPPY START, DRY FINISH
Today brings a mostly cloudy start, with leftover drizzle mainly confined to the northern Oregon and southern Washington coast, the Coast Range, and the Cascades. Most inland areas stay dry, and skies gradually brighten through the afternoon — especially from the southern Willamette Valley northward and across the Cascade foothills and the Gorge. If you see clearing late in the day, that could set the stage for patchy overnight fog in the more sheltered Coast Range valleys. It’s a mild day overall, with highs in the mid-50s to low-60s. Tonight dips into the 40s.
RAIN RETURNS TOMORROW
Tomorrow brings a noticeable shift as a new push of moisture approaches the region. Widespread rain chances build through the afternoon and evening, making tomorrow the wettest day in the short term. While the timing varies slightly, most of the region experiences at least some light rain before the end of the day. Behind that, cooler air moves in for Monday, helping set up a much chillier stretch early next week.
CASCADE SNOWFALL
The second half of November is when ski areas often start opening, but we don’t see that happening through at least next weekend (the 22, 23 of November). Only one weak system later Wednesday and Thursday will drop a few inches of snow. Most likely, we’ll be waiting for a Thanksgiving Weekend opening at the earliest.
Cooler air settles in Monday and lasts through the week, bringing temperatures back down to near normal. Highs fall into the upper 40s to low 50s, and nighttime temps will drop into the mid-30s to mid-40s…
