Man gets life in prison for fatal stabbing in Akron

AKRON, Ohio (WJW) — A man was sentenced to life in prison for the stabbing murder of a man in Akron, the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office announced Friday.

Dareeque Dorman, 37, was found guilty by a Summit County jury last month on the following charges:

  • One count of Murder
  • Two counts of Felonious Assault
  • One count of Tampering with Evidence

Dorman stabbed 24-year-old Gregory McMullen at his home on Lindsay Avenue, leading to his death in May 2024.

An investigation found that Dorman was at McMullen’s residence for a social gathering and that the two started arguing. Dorman eventually took out a knife and stabbed McMullen, with some of the altercation being caught on camera, according to the prosecutor’s office…
