Storm causes flooding and roadway closures in Kern County

Bakersfield, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Heavy rainfall causes several Kern County roads to flood and close on Saturday.

So far, some of those roads include:

  • Tehachapi Willow Springs -due to flooding
  • Fraizer Mountain Park Rd – due to flooding
  • Cameran Canyon Road – due to mudslides and flooding
  • Redbank Road – due to large sinkholes

Kern County Public Works is advising drivers not to go around signs and cross a flooded road signs.

The California Department of Transportation is also working to reopen highways closed due to flooding. They were able to reopen Highway 58 at Mt Vernon Road…
