CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville hosted its 12th annual Rake-A-Thon on Saturday, November 15, drawing hundreds of volunteers to raise money and support for affordable housing in Central Virginia.
“This is a really great way to engage a lot of people in one day in a conversation about affordable housing,” said Natalie Burgwin, director of resource development for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville. “We are raising funds, but then also we get to have this opportunity to engage with students, congregations in our community that we otherwise wouldn’t be able to.”
