Former Governor Nathan Deal Honored for Contributions to Hall County Education

The Hall County School District has announced that former Georgia Governor Nathan Deal will receive the 2025-2026 RESA Pioneer in Education Award. The award recognizes individuals who have contributed to public education in Georgia and have influenced student success in the region.

Deal’s parents were educators, and his children graduated from Hall County schools. He has supported education throughout his career.

As a U.S. Congressman, he volunteered at local schools and spoke to students. As governor, Deal increased state funding for K-12 education by over one billion dollars, raised teacher salaries, and started programs such as the Innovation Fund and Connections for Classrooms Grant to improve technology and instruction…
