Hobbton survived a physical, momentum-swinging clash Friday night, edging county rival Lakewood 20-14 in the second round of the NCHSAA 2A playoffs. Behind a bruising ground attack and a defense that delivered in the biggest moments, the Wildcats protected their home field and earned a trip to Tarboro for next week’s third round.
Both teams battled throughout the game, with both making big plays on the offensive end, and making big stops on the defensive end.
