FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WKRG) — It was a day full of celebrations for veterans and members of American Legion Post 199 in Fairhope.

A ribbon-cutting on Friday afternoon marks the grand re-opening of their headquarters after it was destroyed by Hurricane Sally in 2020.

“Five years,” Joseph Harman, Post 199’s Finance Officer, said. “We’ve literally been homeless.”

Now, a new $1.7 million building that they can officially call their own is open…
