A Fruitland Park woman was arrested after admitting to hiding a smoking pipe in her groin area when she saw law enforcement behind her.
An officer saw a blue Kia Rio following too closely behind another vehicle on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 at 12:10 a.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. After stopping it at the intersection with Lake Ella Road, he found 43-year-old Samantha Cullipher in the passenger seat.
The male driver did not give his consent for his vehicle to be searched, so a K-9 unit was brought to the scene. The K-9 alerted to the odor of narcotics inside the vehicle, and the occupants were asked to step out. A subsequent search revealed a brown plastic bag in the trunk that contained two clear plastic baggies with residue, the report said.
Cullipher was then asked if she had anything illegal on her person, which she denied. But an officer searched her and noticed a hard bulge in her groin area. She was asked to take it out, and she removed a black sock containing a red, yellow and green glass pipe with methamphetamine residue, the report said…
