(KRON) — A cyclist in his 60s has died after he was hit by a vehicle near the intersection of Telegraph Avenue and Haste Street in Berkeley Saturday afternoon, the Berkeley Police Department told KRON4.
“A bicyclist was riding southbound on Telegraph Avenue when they were struck by a northbound vehicle,” Berkeley PD said. “The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.”
Due to the severity of the crash, the Berkeley Police Department has shut down traffic to vehicles and pedestrians in the area of Telegraph Avenue between Haste Street and Dwight Way and Haste Street between Bowditch Avenue and Dana Street.
The driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and is cooperating with police. KRON4 will update this story when more information is available…
